Rebecca Montgomery
Hi! I’m Rebecca Montgomery, a 3D artist with a passion for creating immersive environments. With a background in illustration and painting, I bring a deep understanding of composition, color, and storytelling to my work. I specialize in crafting detailed, visually captivating environments that transport audiences to new worlds—whether it’s a futuristic city, a whimsical forest, or a surreal dreamscape. I have enjoyed environment art because it covers such a wide range of projects - from creating foliage to designing robots, to mapping out entire canyons and valleys to explore in real time… totally unreal! I feel ready and inspired to enter the industry and become more specialized in my 3D work.
I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from the University of British Columbia, where I honed my skills in illustration and painting. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I also began experimenting with sculpture, which gave me a more tactile understanding of form and texture. After graduating, I worked as a freelance artist and a 3D Camera Operator, and these experiences inspired me to pursue an artistic career by continuing my education at Think Tank Training Centre in 3D Asset Design, specializing in Environments for Games.
Today I merge my expertise in fine arts with 3D technology to create environments that tell stories and spark imagination. I still enjoy illustration, painting, and ceramics and I’m always seeking new ways to bring creative ideas to life, whether in games, films, or personal projects.
I am very passionate about seeing the Vancouver art scene celebrated and grow. Let’s create something amazing together!
