Rebecca Montgomery
I have created art for as long as I can remember, born and currently residing in Lions Bay, British Columbia. I completed my BFA in Visual Art and Art History from the University of British Columbia, for one year of which I studied at the College of Fine Arts in Sydney, Australia.
After graduating I became a dedicated yogi, completing my yoga teacher training in Rishikesh, India. Here I discovered how a dedicated somatic and meditation practice complemented and supported an abundance of artistic expression.
Primarily a 2D artist, my practice expanded into 3D work during the pandemic, as I sought new ways to explore themes of care and contemplation. I began by creating a series titled Little Somas, which focused on nurturing the body and spirit. This transition into 3D opened up new creative possibilities, leading me to explore the digital realm. In 2024, I completed a 3D CG and Asset Design course at Think Tank Training Centre, where I specialized in designing environments for video games, bringing together my love for both digital art and immersive storytelling.
